“It all begins with a dream,” or at least in “Fame” it does.
“Where are you from?” exclaimed Lynn the dance director to Kevin.
“Iowa” Kevin answered. “My mom has a dance studio there.” “Well that’s where you will be if you do not succeed!” yelled Lynn.
There were people of all kinds  auditioning from short and tall to quiet and loud. There were people singing “Chickadee China the Chinese Chicken” to opera (well, pretty close).
It was freshman year at a performing arts high school in New York and 10,000 applications were sent in and only 200 openings were available. At this performing arts academy there was a rigorous schedule. The morning consisted of all of their art classes and then the afternoon consisted of academic classes, but that wasn’t all. If you didn’t keep a “C” average or higher or you were kicked out.
Jenny was a short, shy girl who had an amazing voice! Her voice was as good as Jordin Sparks. Along with her, there was a guy that sang the same song she did with a great voice. His name was Marco. They both were very nice people who met a lot of friends and played great parts in the movie.
Then there were Denise and Malik who met just outside the cafeteria. Malik’s mom didn’t know he was attending a performing arts school - she thought he went to a public high school.
Denise also had a spectacular voice complimented by a great personality. Her personality was so good it would have made Grumpy from “Snow White” smile.
Kevin made a lot of friends and is pretty outgoing. He is a very good tap dancer with a very big dream until one day…
This movie was great. It really kept me on my toes to what was going to happen next. I thought I was going to fall out of my chair like an apple out of a tree. It made me want to get up there and dance as well. The acting was amazing! I think this movie would fit people of all ages, however there is some language that may not be appropriate for younger viewers.
Remember: “Don’t be afraid to succeed!”
