The Selah Chamber of Commerce Economic Development Committee sent questionnaires to Selah businesses recently, and are hoping for a response.

Committee chair, Bill Jenkin, said the goal of the committee is to improve the business district.

The purpose of the survey is to determine areas of need, areas of want, and ideas to help the business community thrive into the next decade.

So far, Jenkin said the response has been fair, and many have mentioned traffic problems and a “fractured” business environment.

“We haven’t tabulated the results yet,” Jenkin said.

The deadline for the questionnaires to be returned was April 1, but Jenkin said if businesses would fill out the questionnaire and return it, the answers will be tabulated with the totals.

After the results are tabulated, the committee will take the information to the City Council.

Questionnaires can be dropped off at the chamber office at the Civic Center.
