The Yakima Valley Peppers opened up the Hanford Youth Baseball Tournament Friday with a 4-2 win over Richland.
Trevor Dallman hit a perfect 3-3, while Tyler Porter hit 2-3 and Kyle Fickes drove in a decisive run with a single in the sixth.
Pitcher Jake Breshears was solid on the mound for six innings, as he gave up just two runs on four hits.
On Saturday, Yakima Valley continued its success with a 13-3 win over the Tri-City Badgers.
Porter hit 3-3, including a double and a triple, while Dallman went 2-4.
Later on Saturday, though, the Marysville Bandits overtook the Peppers 7-3.
Before heading into the weekend to compete in the Hanford Youth Baseball Tournament, the Peppers swept West Valley at home 5-3 and 5-4 Tuesday.
Yakima Valley then split a doubleheader with Eisenhower on Thursday.
Ike narrowly took the first game 7-6, but the Peppers crushed the Cadet Baseball Club 23-6 for the split.
On Sunday, the Peppers swept aside Lower Valley 9-2 and 13-3. Stephan Schimdt was daunting on the mound and behind the plate in the first contest. He struck out 10 batters and then hit a perfect 4-4.
Trevor Dallman drove in three runs on 3-4 hitting in the second game.
