The Selah Junior All-Star team won the District 12 Championship Saturday afternoon and is on their way to the state tournament in Mount Vernon next week.

The game, played at the Eisenhower High School field was close with both teams rallying to take the lead.  In the sixth inning the Selah All-Stars rallied taking the lead by four points and never looked back. The final score was 15 to 9 with Kurt Lindemann going 3 for 4 and Jack Cavanaugh going 2 for 4 for the Selah All-Stars. The contest tested both teams and could have gone either way.

Selah’s first game at the Washington State Little League 2008 Junior Baseball State Tournament will be July 15 against Key Peninsula, the District 2 Champions.

The tournament runs from July 15 through July 24 at Skagit Valley Colleges, Dream Field and Mount Vernon PUD Field in Mount Vernon.
